Funny. I adore theatre but I've never quite fancied treading the boards - the roar of the greasepaint, the smell of the crowd, and especially the bit when folk insist you "break a leg" (been there, done that, got the arthritis!)
I much prefer being part of the audience. If you're like me and love the sense of occasion a trip to the theatre evokes, then the perfect location for your pre-theatre meal or cocktail should surely be Bustopher Jones in Truro. Its convenient proximity to the Hall for Cornwall (and also the beautiful Art Deco Plaza cinema a few doors away) make it the perfect haunt.
Named after the main character in Cats, Bustopher Jones is synonymous with theatrical, old school glamour and the decor inside certainly reflects this. Elegantly decorated with stunning chandeliers, moody artwork and stylish panelling throughout, you'd be forgiven for thinking you've stepped into a 1940s Hollywood bar. You're treated like a star by the friendly and attentive staff, there's an open kitchen that you can sit near and if you fancy a show before the show ask for one of their famous cocktails and watch them perform.
