Fundraiser for Hip Dysplasia
Saturday June 9th, 10am - 12pm
3560 feet. About the same as walking from Truro train station, to the Hall for Cornwall.
Doesn't sound like that far does it?
Well what if it was 3560 vertical feet? And what if you were doing it after dealing with a hip disorder for years? A bit more difficult now....
That's exactly what 10 women will be doing on June 16th. Each has been affected by hip dysplasia. A condition where hips don't develop properly. This causes pain and disability in sufferers of all ages. The event, "Hippies Up Snowdon" is something very close to us at Bustopher Jones. Chef Darren's girlfriend Allyce is a "hippy". And she will be participating in the event.
June is hip dsyplasia awareness month and the event is part of that.
The good news though? You don't need to climb a mountain to help out.
Just come down to Bustopher Jones, drink coffee and eat cake.
Saturday morning, June 9th, 10-12. We're holding a charity coffee morning to help raise funds for this important cause.
The 10 women climbing Snowdon have 9 prosthetic hips, 10 titanium pins and a metal plate between them.
But don't worry, you don't HAVE to have replacement body parts to join in.
See you there.
